Steno Typewriting Institute was the first Typewriting Institute in Nilgiris, India started as early as 1933 in Annexes of St Joseph's Elementary School, St Mary's Hill, by S. Amalorpavanathan. Later, the management was taken over by his brother S. Swaminathan relocating the Institute to Main Bazaar, Nilgiris. The ownership was taken over by A.L. Antony and Dr A. Jerome. 

A decade later, the Institute was relocated to Cash Bazaar, Nilgiris. New Institute was initiated by Mr Swaminathan at Trichy, India along with his brother Mr Amalorpavanathan called Nirmala Commercial Institute in Cantonment Trichy.  Steno Typewriting Institute at Nilgiris was renamed as Sundram Technical Institute (Adding all the professional courses) in Cash Bazaar, Nilgiris and managed by A.L Antony and Dr. A. Jerome. And this led to two other Institutes born by alumni of Sundaram Technical Institute as R.K. Institute of Stenography & Popular Commercial Institute.

Bridgette Sundramathu took over as the as proprietress and the institute was managed by A.L Antony and Dr. A.Jerome.

Dr. A.Jerome founded - The Sons of Thunder in 1970 and moved from managing Sundaram Technical Institute by 1986 completely focusing on The Sons of Thunder. 

Later, in 1986 - Lilly Antony was took over as the proprietress. In 1999, the institute was moved to Kovaipudhur, Coimbatore. (eventually sold out 2013)

VIAA (Versatile Industrial Academic Alliance) was initiated in 2007 by Godwin Jerome and was founded as In house institute by Karolyn Godwin in 2017 with many corporate and colleges.  

That's how VIAA Pavilion was born from the family of Trainers and Educationists which is now headquartered in Chennai, India.
