What you should be aware of when doing a certificate course from reputed organisation? A chief data scientist shares his thoughts!

One conversation I had with LinkedIn member Ques - I have finished data science course from xxxx but still not able to get a job. 

(xxx - Top institute here is the one charging lakhs of money for a course) 

Me - Problem is certificate of completion is not certificate of accomplishment Frankly these certificates are not going to fetch you a job (My view though) We are a very certificate obsessed country and the certificate you hold thousands of them do from different such courses If all are having leading edge skills then you need to be a step ahead and show bleeding edge capability. 

Skills are not hard to learn by practice and dedication with so much information available to consume, but we rather tend to focus on python tricks, cheat sheets etc One other problem is who you are learning from. 

Many institutes today are run by people who themselves have completed such course batch before you Be very clear on where you are investing your time and money on. 

Everyone around will try to influence you Dont get carried away by messages getting posted like only few seats available, 50% discount enroll soon. Remember most institutes today start batch every other week Even I might be selling or talking crap here. Ignore and move on if it is not worth your time #datascience
