Learn to survive - how's and but's

How does anyone learn new things without having any intention of learning? Anyone learns the changes in the government policies, employment opportunities and such very real and has immediate impact on their day to day living. They become aware through news, gossips, talk shows and by any other means.

You learn by doing, seeing, discussing, hearing, feeling, touching, taste and smell - research says that you learn 70% more effectively by doing rather than any other means. Combination of seeing and doing accounts to 74% of effectiveness than any other means of learning. These two ways of learning amounts to longer retention, enhanced understanding, greater and more logical understanding.

Moreover, learning by doing has 80% of effective performance towards expected outcome. Even though, discussion helps to learn it does fall behind what you learn by doing and is only supplements learning by doing.

So the learning process should have more activities - by doing rather than studying or through any group discussion. Now we know that what type of learning helps - lets move on to how do we implement the learning.

Why do we all need to learn - so we can provide better solutions to the problems, process, and product. Rapidly changing environment poses - new strategies that require implementing to learn. First, initial analysis will let us know what we need to learn. Then, coming to how we learn could vary depending on what you want to learn.

"The fifth discipline" suggests five tools to implement - systems thinking, personal effort, mental model, shared vision and team learning. Focused thinking on what and why to learn is must and a forerunner to doing through personal effort. Reading and studying does help but you should also contact similar people who share the same thinking on the subject you want to learn and then learn as a team which is very effective if tracked and controlled very frequently on the progress made.

Happy Learning! - Robots and AI can take you job, but you can still learn more to create more value than the robots.
